Bernice Zelma Taylor celebrates 100th birthday
Bernice Zelma Taylor is celebrating her 100th birthday on Saturday, April 25.
Writing to The Chronicle, Scott Weighall said it is a "very special milestone in our family."
"Born in 1926 in Toledo, Washington, she has lived through a century of remarkable change," he wrote. "From the Great Depression, World War II, etc., her life has been a reflection of resilience, kindness and quiet strength."
Taylor has three children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
"To our family, she is the heart of everything - always ready with a story, a bit of wisdom or a warm smile," Weighall wrote. "To those who know her, she is a reminder of what it means to live with grace and purpose. We feel incredibly fortunate to celebrate this milestone with her."
