Filing week for Cowlitz County elected offices approaches
The filing week to run for Cowlitz County elected offices this year runs from 8 a.m. May 4 to 5 p.m. May 8.

Candidates can file online anytime during those dates at the Cowlitz County Elections Office website, www.co.cowlitz.wa.us/Elections.
They can also apply at a computer kiosk at the elections office or by mailing their packet to the office. Mailed declarations are being accepted now.
To accommodate the filing week deadlines, the Cowlitz County Elections Office also announced it will be open on Fridays. The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 4 to 8 before returning to its normal Monday through Thursday hours the following week.
The office is located in the county administrative building at 207 Fourth Ave., Kelso.
Applicants will have to pay a filing fee for each office or submit a signature petition to waive the fee.
Interested candidates must also submit any photo and statements they wish to include in the County Voters Pamphlet by 5 p.m. May 19.
