Spring Youth Fair returns to fairground the first weekend of May

The Spring Youth Fair returns to the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds on Friday, May 1, and continues to Sunday, May 3.

On Friday, the fair will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Attending the fair Friday is free and is considered a sneak peek, as not all exhibits are in place.

The Kids Market is back on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will have over 20 kids vendor booths signed up.

The American Mystifier will be performing some added entertainment as well, due to a sponsorship from Industrial Fabrication.

Crowd favorites such as bouncy houses in the floral building and the kids tractor pedal pull are back this year, with the tractor pull being held daily at 1 p.m. Signups start at 12:30 p.m.

Twelve food vendors and over 25 other vendors, ranging from school districts to commercial products, will be in attendance.

According to fair organizers, this year's animal departments have had a large increase in entrees. While it's too early to tell exact numbers, a fairly large increase across all departments and entries is clear, according to organizers.
