Man, 20, shot Saturday in east Vancouver parking lot dies
A 20-year-old man has died after being shot early Saturday morning in a parking lot in east Vancouver, according to the Vancouver Police Department.
The Clark County Medical Examiner's Office will release the man's name and cause and manner of death at a later time.
Officers responded about 2:20 a.m. for a report of a shooting in a parking lot in the 11800 block of Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard. They learned a man had been shot, and the shooter had fled, according to a department news release.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment, but police said the next day he was not expected to survive.
Police canvassed the area and used a K-9 to try to track the shooter, but did not locate the person, the news release said.
The Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Team is investigating.
Detectives ask that witnesses who have not spoken to police yet, as well as anyone with information on the shooting, call the Vancouver Police Tip Line at 360-487-7399. Additionally, anyone who may have video that captured the shooting should call the tip line.
