Hayden Homes named Great Place to Work

REDMOND, Ore. - Hayden Homes is officially a great place to work, according to an announcement from the company.

"(This is) three years in a row that we've received the Great Place to Work certification," Vice President of Employee Experience Patti Murphy, who has been with Hayden for nine years, told the Columbia Basin Herald. "A lot of it has to do with an alignment that we have around what we call our purpose, which is 'Give as you go.' . . . It resonates with our team members because they are not just selling homes; they know they're building a strong community. That alignment is one of the key factors that allow us to have the culture that we do."

Great Place to Work compiles workplace data to improve employee experience and foster a workplace culture that is good for business, for the employees' lives and for society at large, according to its website.

With an 89% participation rate, up 2% from the previous year, Hayden Homes saw strong engagement from team members in this year's survey, according to the announcement. Of those who participated, 96% of respondents agreed with the statement, "Taking everything into account, I would say this is a great place to work," exceeding the company's internal satisfaction goal of 95% and reinforcing its commitment to fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture centered around giving and community.

"We offer each team member two days a year of paid time off to volunteer in the community," Murphy said. "For some, that looks like doing a group activity, whether it be serving meals at Ronald McDonald House or helping package food at a food bank, or maybe just simply volunteering in their child's classroom to help out a teacher who these days have such large classroom sizes."

In addition, Murphy said, Hayden Homes employees have the chance to purchase one of the company's homes at a $45,000 discount.

"It allows them to experience our product, but (also) to engage in the community that they're sometimes selling in or living in with their coworkers," she said. "In many of our communities, we have multiple team members living within that community, and they're living next door to our customers as well. They realize that building a strong community is not just about selling homes; It's about living in (the community) and being a part of it."

In 2025, Hayden Homes was also recognized as the 11th Best Workplace for Women in the nation and 13th Best Workplace for Parents in the nation by Fortune and was placed 3rd on the 2025 Fortune Best Workplaces in Construction™ List and 21st on the 2025 Fortune Best Medium Workplaces™ List, according to the announcement.

Hayden Homes, based in central Oregon, has built more than a dozen residential developments in Moses Lake, focusing on affordable housing for families. Hayden also has developments in other parts of central and eastern Washington, including the Yakima Valley, Spokane, Tri-Cities and Walla Walla areas.
