Mark Morris High School offers counseling after student death

Counselors and support staff are available at Mark Morris High School after a student died in a car accident Saturday.

Senior Elden Ragsdale, 18, was found dead at the site of an accident in Rose Valley.

In a Sunday statement, Principal Aaron Whitright encouraged families to check in with their students and reach out to the school for support if necessary.

"The loss of a young person affects many in our community, and we know this news may be deeply upsetting for students and families alike," he wrote.

Rick Parrish, executive director of communications and operations, wrote that counseling will be available as long as students and staff need it.
