Vancouver police investigating after pedestrian was struck and injured by a car on Mill Plain

The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating after a car struck and seriously injured a pedestrian Monday morning.

Police responded about 3:30 a.m. to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash at West Mill Plain Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue, according to a news release from the police department.

The driver was traveling west on Mill Plain when the pedestrian stepped into the crosswalk and was struck by the vehicle, police said.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with police.

Police did not release the names of the pedestrian or driver.

Investigators said speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
