Moses Lake Grange to sponsor candidate forum

MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Grange No. 1151 will sponsor a forum where people can listen to candidates for the Fourth Congressional District from 3 to 5 p.m. May 9 at the Grange building, 14724 Road 3 SE.

Organizer Brittney Pittman said candidates will be answering submitted questions. The filing period for the 2026 election doesn't open until May 4, but seven people already have expressed interest in running for the seat.

Incumbent Dan Newhouse announced earlier this year he would not be running for reelection.

John Duresky, Jerrod Sessler, Devin Poore and Favian Valencia will be attending, Pittman said. Two candidates, Amanda McKinney and Matt Boehnke, have other commitments but will be sending statements, she said.

Questions can be submitted to [email protected].

Grange members thought a candidate forum sponsored by a non-partisan organization would be valuable for Fourth District voters, she said.

"We were approached with the opportunity, and we said, 'Hey, we can do this,'" she said.
