First half of Lewis County property taxes due April 30
The deadline for residents to pay the first half of their yearly property taxes arrives at the end of the month, April 30.
The Lewis County Treasurer's Office released an announcement on Monday, April 13, reminding Lewis County residents to pay their property taxes on time ahead of the deadline for the first portion of what is owed at the end of this month.
According to the Lewis County Treasurer's Office, residents need to ensure their payments are made ahead of the coming deadline to avoid paying additional interest or penalties required by Washington state. The local office cannot waive the penalties imposed by the state on late payments.
Those mailing their property tax payments to the treasurer's office should make sure that their payment is post marked on or before the deadline in order to avoid late penalties.
The treasurer's office recommends residents mail payments early or consider other methods of paying their property taxes if possible.
