These Washington restaurants made Yelp’s list of top places to eat for Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and Washington has two of the best restaurants in the country for celebrating this special day, Yelp said.
Restaurants in Burien and Seattle landed spots on Yelp’s list of the top 100 eateries in the nation for the May 8 holiday.
Yelp created the list by gathering businesses in the restaurant category that mentioned the holiday. Then each business was ranked by the “volume and ratings of reviews.”
Classic Eats — Burien
Classic Eats landed No. 16 on Yelp’s list of “Top 100 Spots for Mother’s Day.”
The restaurant in the Puget Sound region serves American comfort food, but it’s more than a typical diner, Yelp reviewers wrote.
“The atmosphere is what you will feel at any diner but more homey, more ‘classy’ feel,” one reviewer wrote.
And several reviewers were pleased with their Mother’s Day brunch visit last year.
“A big gem in small ole town Burien. It is a Black-owned business too. The chef even came by to wish me a Happy Mother’s Day!!” one reviewer said last May.
Yelp reviewers raved about the triple-stack French toast.
The sweet and savory dish includes three layers of thick-cut French toast filled with chicken breast, bacon, ham, chipotle mayo and Swiss cheese. It’s topped with powdered sugar, maple syrup and strawberries.
The diner serves lunch and dinner. Brunch is on the weekends from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Salty’s Waterfront Seafood Grills — Seattle
This waterfront restaurant offers not only fresh seafood but also “breathtaking views” of the Seattle skyline, Yelp reviewers said.
Salty’s Waterfront Seafood Grills ranked No. 97 on Yelp’s best eateries for Mother’s Day.
The restaurant is on Alki Beach and offers indoor and outdoor seating with views of Elliott Bay and Seattle’s skyscrapers.
“Love how charming this place is. Like stepping into the past with a stunning view of the city,” one reviewer wrote, while adding that there’s plenty of parking.
The clam chowder and smoked salmon were highly recommended by reviewers.
“Between the view and tasty food, I would definitely suggest for a nice date night, birthday celebration, or a place for visitors to the city to try,” another reviewer wrote.
Cafe Monarch in Scottsdale ranked No. 1 on Yelp’s top Mother’s Day restaurant spots.
