Recall: Microbial contamination in laxative can cause a ‘life-threatening’ infection

One lot of Senna Syrup natural vegetable laxative has been recalled by Lohxa for microbial contamination.

The Lohxa-written, FDA-posted recall notice warns, “Use of contaminated product by the elderly, patients with a weakened immune system, or patients at a higher risk of developing life-threatening inflammation of the heart, could result in infections that could be life-threatening.”

This concerns lot No. AM1115S with expiration date of 01/2023, 24-unit packages of 8.8 mg/5 ml doses. Consumers and healthcare providers with the recalled laxative should return it to the place of purchase.
