Kennewick Irrigation District incumbents easily re-elected
Both Kennewick Irrigation District incumbents were re-elected to the board by better than five-to-one margins.
Patrick McGuire had 1,351 votes, 85 percent, to 247 votes, 15 percent, for Kennewick City Councilman John Trumbo, according to results certified Monday.
Gene Huffman had 1,322 votes, 84 percent, to 246 votes, 16 percent, for Bill McKay, a self-storage facility owner and retired dairy farmer.
McGuire and Huffman will begin new three-year terms in January.
McGuire promised to work on modernizing the Chandler Pumping Station, if re-elected, while Huffman said he will work to represent the district’s urban and rural areas.
