Shawver elected to 2nd term with Columbia Irrigation District
Columbia Irrigation District board member Vincent Shawver continued the trend of incumbents being re-elected.
Shawver finished with 261 votes, or 64 percent, to Patrick Grengs’ 47 votes, or 36 percent, in last week’s election.
Shawver will serve a second term. He ran for the board in 2012 after unsuccessfully challenging in court Columbia Irrigation District’s coming into his West Richland neighborhood.
Grengs wanted to speed up a backlog of water rights applications, if elected.
Kennewick Irrigation District board members Patrick McGuire and Gene Huffman also won re-election, as did South Columbia Basin board member Charles Lyall.
