Irrigation district candidates answer questionnaires
The Tri-City Herald is posting information online to help irrigation district members learn about candidates for board seats up for election Dec. 8.
The Kennewick, Benton, Columbia and South Columbia Basin districts have contested races. The Herald sent candidates in those races a short questionnaire and has posted their answers at www.tricityherald.com/election.
Elections will be held 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
▪ Kennewick Irrigation District members may vote at 12 W. Kennewick Ave, Kennewick. John Trumbo is challenging incumbent Patrick McGuire for Position 2, and William McKay is challenging incumbent Gene Huffman for Position 5.
▪ Benton Irrigation District members may vote at 47506 Highland Road, Benton City. Tim Small is challenging incumbent Tyler Wilson.
▪ Columbia Irrigation District members may vote at 10 E. Kennewick Ave., Kennewick. Patrick Grengs is challenging incumbent Vincent Shawver for the Division 1 position.
▪ Columbia Basin Irrigation District members may vote at 18897 Road 24 S.W., Mattawa, or the Basin City fire hall at 6725 Road 170. Mary Ehrhart is challenging incumbent Charles Lyall for the Division 1 position.
