A measure that will dissolve Benton County Fire District 3 at year’s end was passing Tuesday night with 386 yes votes, or 73 percent, to 142 no votes, or 27 percent.
The people living within the rural fire district still will get fire protection. It is being provided by West Benton Regional Fire Authority, a combined fire department approved by voters last year.
The next ballot count is expected Wednesday afternoon.
