Know the Tri-Cities candidates before you vote. Virtual voter forums
The League of Women Voters of Benton and Franklin Counties is offering virtual candidate forums for this fall’s Tri-City area city council, school board board and Port of Benton elections.
The general election is Nov. 2.
The sessions are being pre-recorded with Northwest Public Broadcasting’s KTNW-TV. The exact channel for KTNW may vary depending on your cable service provider, such as Spectrum and Dish TV.
The PBS broadcasts will be at 7 p.m. and repeated at midnight:
- Monday, Oct. 11 — Kennewick City Council and Kennewick School Board — 6 races
- Tuesday, Oct. 12 — Richland City Council — 5 races
- Wednesday, Oct. 13 — Richland School Board and West Richland City Council positions 1 and 2 — 5 races
- Thursday, Oct. 14 —West Richland City Council — position 3 and mayor, and Pasco City Council and Pasco School Board — 5 races
- Friday, Oct. 15 — Benton City City Council, Kiona-Benton School Board and Port of Benton — 5 races
Matt Loveless from the Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University in Pullman will moderate the discussion.
The forums also will be available through Nov. 2 on nwpb.org, the League Facebook and website, www.lwv-bf.org.
They also are available through the League’s additional partners: The Columbia Basin Badger Club and for their races, the cities of Richland, channel 192, and Pasco, channel 191.
Ballots for the election will be mailed on Oct. 13.
Deadline for mail-in and online voter registration is Oct. 25. Register in-person through Nov. 2 at your county auditor’s office.
