Benton County reopens Richland voter center. Drive-up voter registration Tuesday

Benton County’s temporary voting center is opening its doors again.

The center is at the former Chuck E. Cheese at 2610 N. Columbia Center Blvd. in Richland. Benton County Auditor’s Office officials will help with voter registration and address changes starting Monday.

On Tuesday, the auditor’s office plans a drive-up registration drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of National Voter Registration Day.

People will be able to stay in their cars while they register.

People can register online or by mail until Oct. 26 and in-person, they can register through election day.

Starting on Oct. 14, people can get replacement ballots, voters pamphlets, voting units for people with disabilities and other help.

Ballots are being mailed on Oct. 16 for the Nov. 3 general election.

The county received more than $250,000 in funding to open the 14,000-square-foot center. The move was necessary to provide more space to mitigate COVID-19, Auditor Brenda Chilton told the Herald when the center opened for the August primary.
