The City of Pasco is inviting residents to submit questions for the five finalists for the city’s next police chief.

The city has been narrowing the field from the initial group of 16 applicants who were selected in the first round of a national search led by Bob Murray & Associates.

Pasco residents can send their questions for the finalists until Wednesday June 3rd at 5 p.m.

The city doesn’t request personal information from residents who submit their questions and stated that not all questions will be made public, according to a news release from the city.

Residents can meet the finalists between 6:15 p.m and 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday June 10 at the HAPO Center, 6600 Burden Blvd.

Before this meeting, security experts and community leaders will interview each candidate across three panels.

Once the interviews and meetings conclude, Pasco City Manager Harold Stewart will offer the position to one of them.

The Pasco Police Department employs more than 100 staff members and has an annual budget of nearly $26 million.

This selection process started after former Pasco Police Chief Ken Roske retired on March 27. He led the department for more than six years and served for nearly four decades. Since then, Deputy Chief Brent Cook has been leading the department.
