Lifeguards wanted for soon-to-open $41M aquatic center in Pasco

The Pasco Aquatic Center holds a job fair for lifeguards this weekend.

The event is 1-5 p.m., Saturday, April 25. Since the aquatic center is still being built, the fair will be at Pasco Memorial Aquatic Park, 1520 W. Shoshone St.

The $41 million aquatic center makes its debut in mid-June at 5204 Road 108. The voter-approved facility will offer pools, a lazy river, Ninja course, hot tubs and gathering spaces.

The hiring fair is open to individuals who are at least 15, able to pass a swim test and able to lift up to 50 pounds. They must obtain or hold a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification and American Red Cross CPR for Professional Rescuer/AED certification.

Prior to the job fair, applicants must complete an online application at pasco-wa.gov/jobs and are encouraged to reserve a time slot for the hiring event at outlook.coffice365.com.

Starting pay is $18.13 per hour.

The city budgeted to hire the equivalent of about 32 full-time positions., many of them, including the lifeguards and cashiers, will be part-time, seasonal workers.
