12 apply to replace Richland city councilman. Four have tried before

Twelve Richland residents, including at four former city council candidates, applied to replace longtime City Councilman Phil Lemley.

The city accepted applications through Wednesday for Lemley’s position. He left the council earlier this month after 12 years because he’s returning to Arkansas.

The positions comes with a $1,231 a month salary.

The applications include some familiar faces including Chaune’ Fitzgerald, Kurt Maier, Ginger Wireman and Randy Slovic. All have run for city council previously.

And, Justin Raffa, a former Benton County Commission candidate, also threw his hat in the ring.

The full list of candidates include:

  • Dusty Howard
  • Gregery Levy
  • KaeRae Parnell
  • Carl Sarrazolla
  • Damon Van Dyke
  • Donovan Williams
  • Chaune’ Fitzgerald

  • Kurt Maier

  • Ginger Wireman

  • Randy Slovic

  • Justin Raffa

The city council will review the completed applications and resumes and choose up to four applicants to be interviewed. The finalists will be questioned on June 28 during an open meeting.

The appointed council member will serve until November 2023 when they would have to run for office if they want to keep the seat.
