A pod of killer whales recently surfaced right alongside boaters off the coast of Canada, video shows.

The video — taken near Wolf Island in British Columbia — captured the massive creatures teaching their young to hunt, according to a May 20 Facebook post from Coastal First Nations, an indigenous non-profit organization.

In the video, around a half dozen of the animals can be seen breaching just feet from the boat and loudly spouting mist from their blowholes.

After their hooked fins disappeared below the surface, a boater can be heard saying “unbelievable.”

Killer whales, the largestof all dolphin species, consume fish, squid, seals, sea birds, and even great white sharks, according to the U.K.’s Natural History Museum.

The highly social animals pass down hunting strategies from generation to generation, meaning each pod has a unique approach.

One documented strategy involved creating waves to wash seals from ice chunks, while another involved swimming onto the shore in order to reach prey, according to the museum.
