The U.S. Department of Justice's Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward has been put in charge of the department's antitrust division, regulatory news website MLex reported on Monday.

Omeed Assefi, the acting head of the antitrust division, is set to leave the department, an MLex reporter said in a post on X.

U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche last week signed off on a memo allowing Woodward to exercise the authority of the assistant attorney general for the antitrust division, the report added.
