FBI requesting aid to find truck driver who went missing in Central Florida
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking the public to help find a truck driver who went missing in Central Florida.
FBI officials said on April 16, 41-year-old Alejandro Jacomino Gonzalez picked up multiple vehicles from the Port of Brunswick, in Georgia.
Gonzalez left for Miami, where he was expected to drop off the vehicles, when he arrived at a truck stop in Brevard County at 1:21 a.m. He rested for several hours, according to the FBI report.
At 7:49 a.m., officials said the truck he was driving went south one exit, then turned north towards Jacksonville. Gonzalez has since been unreachable and the truck was reported missing.
On April 17, the truck was located in Port Wentworth, GA, but Gonzalez wasn't in it. A few vehicles were also missing from the truck, according to the FBI report. Three vehicles have been recovered in Florida, but several of them, as well as Gonzalez, are still missing.
The FBI is asking the public to submit any photos or video footage from anyone located in or around the Brevard County Rest Area in Grant Valkaria between the hours of 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Friday, April 17.
They're specifically focusing on the southern portion of the rest area near the ramp that enters back onto Interstate 95 South.
Gonzalez is of Cuban descent, bald, with a brown beard and mustache. He stands 5'11" and weighs 200 pounds. Identifying marks and scars included a full sleeve tattoo on his left arm, a tattoo on his lower right arm, and a tattoo of the word "Elisia" on his right forearm.
