Ilhan Omar Wants to Embrace Marjorie Taylor Greene

Representative Ilhan Omar said Tuesday that former allies of President Donald Trump who had spoken against the war with Iran should be given credit, saying it was important “for us to put our arms around” them.

In an interview with Pod Save America, the Minnesota Democrat said it was important for lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to work together, after Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Republican former Georgia representative who supported ousting Omar from Congress, spoke out against Trump.

"I think as Americans, it is really important for us to work together for the preservation of everything that is good in our country, and to support leaders that we can trust to safeguard what is good of our country," Omar said, when asked about Greene talking with right-wing radio host and Infowars founder Alex Jones about the president.

Omar also talked about Candace Owens, the right-wing influencer who was also closely aligned with Trump but has grown more critical in recent months, particularly over the Epstein files and the Middle East.

"We should give them credit for that, the fact that they've had this wake-up call to finally seeing this con man, this corrupt, chaotic man for what he is," Omar said. "I think is an important thing for us to put our arms around and say, ‘Yes, and now let's figure out, how do we save our country from the disaster that this man is creating?'"
