Legendary cottage, a ‘creative hang’ for music icons, up for sale in California
A celebrity secret has been exposed — and it’s for sale.
Welcome to Pebble Court, a cottage hidden in Laurel Canyon, California, that was the home of Hollywood costume designer Theodora Van Runkle and is listed for $2.25 million.
While her name alone carries star power, the residence itself was a “creative hang” for some massive music icons, including John Lennon, Joni Mitchell, Jim Morrison and Frank Zappa, a news release on the house says.
“Every inch of this home is steeped in artistry, legacy and vision. It is a true piece of art and still carries the creative energy of Laurel Canyon circa 1967,” Compass listing agent Madeline Goldberg said in the release.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home “fuses artistic history with whimsical charm” and is seen more as a time capsule, retreat hybrid.
Features, per the listing on Compass, include:
- Updated kitchen
- Stained glass windows
- Artist’s studio
- Outdoor kitchen
- Expansive decks
- Views
A notable feature of the property is it sits on ⅓ acre of flat land, which is not seen too often in the curves and dips of Laurel Canyon in the hills of West Hollywood.
