An Arkansas man was shocked when he learned that he won the jackpot prize on a scratch-off ticket for the second time in less than a year.

Carter D. decided to go with his “gut feeling” when he stopped for gas in Camden and purchased a $50,000 Blast instant game, according to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.

Lottery officials didn’t provide Carter’s full name.

“I just liked the look of it and said, ‘Just go on ahead,’” Carter told lottery officials.

Later that day, Carter scratched the ticket and saw he won the game’s top prize of $50,000.

“Oh my God,” he thought to himself, he said.

Carter told his dad, who is also a regular lottery player, about the win. When his dad went with him to claim his prize, he mentioned that this was Carter’s second big win, lottery officials said. In November he won the $10,000 top prize on another instant game.

“I told him he needs to play one where the top prize is a million,” Carter’s dad told lottery officials.

Carter said he plans to save the money from his prize.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
