An Oregon woman who vanished while on a hike in Arizona has been found dead, reports say.

Jessica Lindstrom, 34, was reported missing after failing to return from a morning hike in the Deem Hills Recreation Area on Friday, Aug. 4, the Phoenix Police Department said on Twitter, now rebranded as X.

Lindstrom’s body was found in the recreation area that evening, according to police, KTAR News reported.

Police said her death does not appear to be suspicious, the outlet reported.

Phoenix Fire Department Capt. Scott Douglas told CBS News that while the medical examiner’s office will determine a cause of death, it appears Lindstrom’s death may be heat-related.

Lindstrom, a registered Oregon nurse, was visiting family in Arizona, the outlet reported.

Lindstrom’s husband wrote in an Aug. 6 Facebook post that she was his world, adding she was the “best thing” that ever happened to him.

“I am just so sad with a big hole in my heart at this time and taking everything in stride,” he said.

The two shared four boys together, according to his post.

Lindstrom’s husband said he proposed to her at Deem Hills, where she died, according to an Aug. 7 Facebook post.

“So eternally grateful that she said ‘YES’ and gave me a chance,” he wrote. “I married my best friend.”

Lindstrom’s mother shared her thanks on GoFundMe to those who helped search for Lindstrom.

“We have been so overcome with the selfless service, the love, and the prayers that you have shown,” her mother wrote. “Oh how we will miss our Jessica.”
