2 cars left teetering on guardrail after big pileup leaves one dead, Louisiana cops say

A rear-end crash on Interstate 10 in Louisiana snowballed into a multi-vehicle pileup, killing one, police said.
The crash happened at 8:30 a.m. on May 1 near the exit intersection of I-10 West and Crowder Boulevard in New Orleans, the police department said in a news release.
A driver of a Cadillac Escalade struck a Honda Civic from behind, which led to a pileup that involved six cars, according to the release.
Two crashed cars ended up perched on a guardrail beside the roadway, police said.
The following drivers were involved in the pileup, according to the release:
- A 34-year-old man driving a Honda Civic, was pronounced dead at the scene.
- A 48-year-old woman driving a Cadillac Escalade is in stable condition.
- A 38-year-old woman driving a Kia Forte is in stable condition.
- A 57-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Silverado did not report injuries.
- A 58-year-old woman driving a Toyota Tacoma is in stable condition.
- A 34-year-old woman driving a Mercedes Benz SUV and her passenger, a 3-year-old girl, are both in stable condition.
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma and the Mercedes Benz were atop the guardrail after crashing, police said.
