Vehicle plunges 250 feet into CA canyon. Video shows rescuers rush to save those inside

A vehicle carrying two passengers drove 250 feet off a California cliffside and into a canyon, officials said.

Rescuers rushed to save the passengers, whose vehicle was found in Monkey Canyon in Angeles National Forest, the LASD Special Enforcement Bureau said in a Dec. 13 tweet.

A photo from a helicopter shows the vehicle turned over at the bottom of the canyon.

Rescuers were able to hoist the two passengers into a helicopter. They were then airlifted to a trauma center.

Officials said they were conscious and alert, CBS Los Angeles reported.

Monkey Canyon is about 30 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.
