An 8-year-old girl was killed when an off-road vehicle flipped and crashed, authorities in Arizona said.

The child was inside the vehicle with another 8-year-old girl and two 14-year-old girls, the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities responded to a forest service road north of Forest Lakes around 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4, deputies said.

They had gotten a report about an off-road vehicle that had crashed and rolled over with children inside of it, the sheriff’s office said. The caller said someone was trying CPR on one of the girls.

It’s unclear who was driving the vehicle when it crashed.

One 8-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

The three other children were airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, authorities said. All of the children were from Phoenix.

Authorities are investigating the crash.

Forest Lakes is about 130 miles northeast of Phoenix.
