‘Iconic’ and puzzling estate in NY has Zillow Gone Wild scratching its head. See why
It’s considered one of the most “iconic” homes in the Staten Island neighborhood of Todt Hill — if not the most iconic, as the listing on Zillow.com says.
And it can be yours for $3.99 million.
The seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom estate has a great deal of personality flowing both inside and outside, as the photos show, and even managed to capture the attention of a popular social media real estate page.
“Sprawling over an acre of land, this one-of-a-kind estate features all the amenities of a five star hotel in the comfort of your own home,” the listing says. “Upon entering the gated circular driveway, you are transported to a European villa in this prestigious neighborhood with a high-tech security system and three car garage.”
Other features of the 6,280-square-foot home include:
Two-story entry foyer
Wood floors
Floating staircase
Schonbeck crystal chandeliers
Huge dining room
Gourmet kitchen
Theater
Custom bar
Game room
Gym
Sauna
Swimming pool
However, Zillow Gone Wild was a tad confused about the property and didn’t know quite what to think.
“Wow, ONLY eight bathrooms? Just throw the whole house away,” one person joked.
“Pretty sure the owner made their millions designing mall movie theaters in the 80s,” another said.
“This place is close to my parents’ house,” someone commented. “I was always freaked out by the lawn animals— and I was right, it’s just as creepy inside!”
“Well, someone is definitely on a first name basis with QVC, Design Toscana, Bradford Exchange and Franklin Mint...” one person joked.
“I always pass this house and wondered what the inside looked like,” another said. “Pretty much what I imagined.”
“First: Dolls. No.
Secondly: Why are there 15 different flooring styles in this place?
Thirdly: Why would you make your bathroom 100% stone, and then throw down a couple of living room rugs? It smells… damp,” someone joked.
“You could fit many Olive Gardens in there,” one person pointed out.
“....Is it a Cheesecake Factory?” another asked.
