Church member carjacked after giving man ride home from service, Tennessee police say
A man accused of carjacking a church member at gunpoint after receiving a ride home is still on the run, Tennessee police say.
Authorities released photos of the man they said stole the victim’s car along East Raines and Faronia roads on July 6 in Memphis, according to a police news release. The incident occurred just after 9 p.m.
The church member told police he offered a man at his church a ride home to Davidson Drive.
“When they arrived, the male pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim exit the car, and the suspect fled the scene,” police wrote in the release.
The victim’s car was eventually found, authorities said. It’s not clear if the church member was injured.
