Missing mom of 3 hasn’t been seen in weeks, Georgia cops say. ‘Not like her at all’

Georgia Bureau of Investigation

The family of Monisha Sharae Leath are perplexed as they enter yet another week without hearing from the mother of three.

“This is not like her at all to go missing,” Leath’s sister Jackie wrote on Facebook the day after she vanished. “She’s a loving mother first and a caring independent woman.”

So where did she go? The family, and police, are still looking for answers.

Leath is 32 years old and was last seen around 2 p.m. on Feb. 24 near Rome, Georgia, according to police. Rome is about 70 miles northwest of Atlanta.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has asked the public for any tips since she disappeared.

Jackie Leath tried to video chat with her sister on Feb. 24 but she didn’t pick up, according to WAGA. Instead, she told the outlet that Leath’s husband called back.

“He called me back on her line of the phone and was saying she was in the store,” Jackie Leath told the TV station.

It wasn’t until later that evening, when Leath didn’t pick up her children from school, that her sister knew something was wrong, WAGA reported.

There has been no communication from Leath since she went missing, according to the GBI.

”We just want my sister home. The girls, they’re staying with me. They’re crying for their mom every night,” Leath’s sister told WAGA. “She has her moments when she gets into her feelings, but we know she isn’t going to disappear by herself.”

Leath is a Black woman and is 5-feet 6-inches tall, according to police’s description. She is 180 pounds and has short brown hair, a pierced right nostril and a tattoo on her left hand.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the GBI at 1-800-597-8477, or go online to submit an anonymous tip.

“Please keep my family and her three girls in prayers and help find my sister,” Leath’s sister wrote on Facebook. “We are really hurting from inside and out, please help find my sister.”
