An “angry” driver pulled up next to a man and fired a gun along a Georgia road, officials said.

The Atlanta Police Department said a 28-year-old was at a traffic light when another person on the road “became angry” at his driving. That’s when the second person “drove alongside and shot the victim” on Tuesday, Jan. 4, according to officials.

The shooter reportedly drove off after the incident, which sent the man to a hospital.

Officers in a news release said the shooting happened near Piedmont Circle and Piedmont Road, an intersection northeast of downtown Atlanta. Police responded to the area at about 4:55 a.m. after receiving a report of a person who had been shot.

“The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition and the investigation is ongoing,” Atlanta officials said.

Police in their news release didn’t share why the man’s driving made the shooter angry.
