Hiker discovers mysterious human remains outside Colorado town, police say

A hiker walking just outside of town discovered mysterious human remains, Colorado police said.

A hiker was outside of Pueblo city limits Sunday, Nov. 14, when he “reported seeing what he believed to be a dead body,” the Pueblo County Sheriff’s office said.

“Pueblo County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene and were able to confirm the remains were human,” police said.

Deputies shut down the area until the afternoon to take drone footage and get investigators to the scene.

The body has not been identified, and the cause of death has not yet been determined, officials said.

Officials said an autopsy is scheduled for this week.
