A 50-pound rock fell onto a woman three and a half hours into a hike on the Makuku Stream Trail in Nuuanu, Hawaii officials said.

A 50-pound rock crashed onto a hiker in Hawaii, officials said.

The woman was more than 3 1/2 hours into a hike on a trail in Nuuanu on Sunday when she got hit by the huge rock, the Honolulu Fire Department said.

The rock caused an injury on her hip, but the hiker wasn’t pinned to the ground, rescuers said.

The hiker was part of a group of 14 people following the Makuku Stream Trail. One of the hikers called 911 after the woman was hit, officials said.

The Honolulu Fire Department sent rescuers to help the hiker.

“Rescue personnel were transported via Air 1 to the location of the injured hiker, where she was assessed, treated and secured into a rescue stretcher,” the fire department said in a news release.

The woman was then taken to get emergency medical care. Officials did not say the woman’s current condition.

The other hikers walked out of the trail without assistance.
