This Walt Disney ‘Technicolor Dream House’ in Palm Springs is for sale at $1.095 million

A Palm Springs home known as ‘‘Walt Disney’s Technicolor Dream House’‘ has hit the market for just over $1 million.

The four-bedroom, four-bath house in the Indian Canyons neighborhood was built for Walt Disney and his wife Lillian as a retreat in their later years, according to the official listing.

The home pops with bright colors and Disney-themed decorations. The kitchen walls are accented with orange, turquoise, purple and powder blue.

At 2,443 square feet and sitting on a quarter of an acre on the second fairway of Indian Canyons North Course, the home was owned by family members until 2015, the listing said.

The private backyard, with an outdoor dining area, has a large pool and spa. Mountain views can be seen from the back and front of the mid-century modern house.

The home was built in 1962 and has been on the market for less than three weeks. It was last sold in 2017 for $865,000, according to realtor.com.

The Los Angeles Times, which first reported on the listing, said other Disney homes have hit the market in recent years, such as a former Los Feliz property that was listed for sale at $3.65 million in 2014. He sold another home that was razed and replaced by a 35,000-square-foot megamansion, the newspaper reported.

Michael Erives and Darcey Deetz of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Leaskou Partners are the listing agents. The exact listing price is $1.095 million.

Disney died in 1966 at age 65. He created Disney Bros. Studio with his brother Roy in the 1920s. The theme park Disneyland in Anaheim opened in 1955.
