21st century Christmas caroling: Watch Amazon drivers sing to Indiana doorbell camera

A husband in Indiana wanted to surprise his wife with a gift — even though she knew he’d ordered it online.

So, he got some help from a couple of Amazon delivery drivers.

McCordsville, Indiana, resident Jeff Smith ordered an Opal ice maker from Amazon. In the online instructions to Amazon, he asked the delivery drivers who bought the gift to sing a Christmas song to the Nest doorbell camera, Smith told McClatchy News.

To his surprise, they obliged.

Video shows two Amazon drivers walk to the front door, put the package on the front porch and snap a photo of it to confirm the delivery. Then drivers looked at each other and turned to the camera to sing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

“I was shocked that they actually did it,” Smith told McClatchy.

His wife, Candace, immediately called Smith and they both laughed. It looks like the drivers enjoyed it, too, Smith said.

“I hope it brought joy to them as much as it did for us,” Smith said.
