He was born in Samarkand, Kazakhstan, and lived in Richland for 20 years.
He was a electrical engineer and inventor for Battelle at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland.

Corbett “Corey” Allen Swearingen, 42, of Plymouth, Wash., died Nov. 23 at home.
He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, and lived in the Tri-Cities area for two years.
He was an electrician.

Josephine Ortiz, 86, of Kennewick, died Dec. 8 at Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick.
She was born in Edinburg, Texas, and lived in the Tri-Cities for 66 years.
She was a retired housekeeper for Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Pasco.

He was a retired laborer at a meat warehouse.
