Ray E. Moore, 65, of Kennewick, died Jan. 31 in Kennewick.

He was born in Kennewick and was a lifelong Tri-Citian.

He was a retired union carpenter and sole proprietor of Ray E. Moore Construction.

Martha W. Stewart, 97, of Sunnyside, died Feb. 1 in Sunnyside.

She was born in Holly Springs, Miss., and was a longtime Sunnyside resident.

She was a housewife.

Kirby J. Hammond Jr.

Kirby James Hammond Jr., 51, of Richland, died Jan. 29 in Richland.

He was born in Livermore, Calif., and lived in the Tri-Cities for 15 years.

He was a laborer.

John R. Valinch

John R. Valinch, 73, of Richland, died Jan. 31 at home.

He was born in Newberg, N.Y., and lived in Richland since 2020.

He was a retired project manager for the state of California.

Kathy Nichols, 74, of Sunnyside and formerly of Bickleton, died Jan. 28 in Sunnyside.

She was born in Massachusetts and was a longtime Bickleton resident.

She was a housewife.

Reuben R. Roehl, 91, of Yakima and formerly of Sunnyside, died Feb. 1 in Yakima.

He was born in New Leipzig, N.D., and was a longtime Sunnyside resident.

He was a retired shift operator at the Hanford site.

James W. Thornton, 90, of Richland, died Jan. 31 in Kennewick.

He was born in Alamogordo, N.M., and lived in the Tri-Cities for 57 years.

He was a retired engineering manager for Westinghouse Hanford.
