She was born in Can Tho, Vietnam, and lived in the Tri-Cities for 30 years.

She was a retired farmer.

She was a retired medical transcriptionist.

Shirley Gay Backus, 86, of Kennewick, died Jan. 9 at home.

She was born in Orofino, Idaho, and lived in the Tri-Cities for 42 years.

She was a retired salesperson for Walmart.
