Hanford vit plant testing tank barged to Richland

A 65-ton stainless steel vessel that will be used in testing to resolve technical issues at the Hanford vitrification plant is loaded onto a barge in Vancouver, Wash., where it was fabricated. By the afternoon of July 12, it had traveled up the Columbia River to near Umatilla.

The vessel will be installed in the Full-Scale Vessel Test Facility in north Richland.
