2015 was warmest year on record at Hanford
The year just past was the warmest at Hanford since records began being kept during World War II, according to the Hanford Meteorology Service.
Temperatures averaged 57.5 degrees, which was 3.6 degrees above normal. It easily beat the record of 56.4 degrees, which was the average for 1992 and 1998.
The hottest temperature in 2015, as recorded at the Hanford Meteorological Station, was 111 degrees on June 28. The coldest was 11 degrees on the first day of the year.
The coldest year on record was 1985, when temperatures averaged 49.6 degrees.
