Hanford workers sent home due to high winds
Hanford workers are being sent home from work early today because of high winds.
In addition, the start of swing shift is being delayed for two hours.
To alleviate traffic congestion, workers in the 200 East Area of central Hanford and all workers south of the Wye Barricade, including those in Richland, were released from work at 2 p.m.
Workers in the 200 West Area of central Hanford and those in the reactor areas along the Columbia River were set to be released from work at 2:45 p.m.
Workers considered essential to maintain safety at Hanford are continuing to work their usual shifts.
