One of Tri-Cities best employers for veterans goes a step further
Energy Northwest unveiled a Veterans Wall of Honor at its nuclear power plant near Richland on Thursday.
The 6-by-30-foot granite wall lists 144 names of veterans who have worked for Energy Northwest.
About 330 employees, or about 30 percent of the agency’s workforce, are veterans. More than four in 10 new employees hired served in the military.
Energy Northwest is recognized as a Top 10 Military Friendly Employer by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs, for its efforts to recruit and retain veterans and its policies on National Guard and Reserve service.
Energy Northwest also was recognized by the Washington Employment Security Department as one of 12 employers in the state creating employment opportunities for veterans in 2016.
