Richland High seniors earn National Merit scholarships

Two Richland High School seniors were recently awarded National Merit scholarships sponsored by individual colleges and universities.

Callum Cordova Pe and Lindsay M Rollosson earned the scholarships from the University of Southern California and Harvey Mudd College, respectively. The amount of the scholarships weren’t released but such scholarships typically provide $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years of study.

More than 176 colleges and universities sponsored 3,800 scholarships through the National Merit Scholar program. Thousands more scholarships were awarded earlier this year, paid for by the program itself or sponsored by corporations.

Callum intends to study medicine, while Lindsay plans to study physics.
