Pasco council approves land sale to Columbia Basin College for student housing
Columbia Basin College has purchased the land it needs to build student housing near the northeast corner of its Pasco campus.
The Pasco City Council unanimously approved the sale of just under 5 acres to the college for $796,000 during its Monday meeting. The land is located near the corner of Argent Road and 20th Avenue and was left over from the development of Sun Willows Golf Course.
CBC President Rich Cummins said he is in negotiations with a private developer to build and operate the development, which would have 378 units when fully built out. The first 100 or so units are expected to be available for students to lease beginning in fall 2017.
