Mid-Columbiaa students receive scholarships

▪ Colton D. Sowers of Richland received a National Merit Arizona State University Scholarship. His probable career field: computer science. He attends Richland High School.

▪ Ryan W. Manny of Walla Walla received a National Merit Washington State University Scholarship. His probable career field: computer science. He attends Walla Walla High School.

▪ Kelsey Toyoda of Pasco received the Duane Shipman Memorial Scholarship valued at $2,500 by Grange Insurance Association.

Twenty-eight scholarships were awarded this year. The applicants or their parents must be policyholders of Grange Insurance Association.

▪ Hanford contractor Washington River Protection Solutions has awarded five high school seniors a Family Scholarship.

The seniors are Scott Francis of Richland High School, Tyrelle Holst of Connell High School, Nate Verley of Irrigon High School, Mark Kneblik of Richland High School and Trevor Golden of Kiona-Benton City High School.

Francis, Holst, and Verley received $2,000 scholarships and Kneblik and Golden received $1,000.
