Yakama Nation Tribal School students visit PNNL (w/video)
Yakama Nation Tribal School eighth-grade twins Bryce, left, and Bryan Strom, both 14, take a look at a salmon tadpole they caught on a net Thursday during a tour of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Aquatic Research Laboratory in Richland.
About 40 Native American students spent the day at PNNL as part of the My Brother’s Keeper initiative.
The initiative was launched by the White House in 2014 with a focus on introducing economically disadvantaged youths to careers in science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM fields. See a video at www.tricityherald.com.
