The Hanford High School Key Club recently led a schoolwide effort to raise $2,250 for the Pennies for Patients program of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

“Pennies for Patients unified Hanford High around a central issue,” said Isabel Bartholomew, student chairwoman. “This hit especially close to home, as fellow HHS student Grant Sandy was diagnosed with leukemia last year.”

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will use the money to help fund cancer cure research and to help care for local cancer patients.
